Here are Abrahams Oriental Rugs, we understand that you need your beautiful rugs to be both appealing and practical. Being over 40 years in the business, we are very well experienced and knowledgeable to take care of all types of rug quality, whether it be wool, silk, cotton, camel hair, antique or contemporary.
Our expert staff are highly experienced to deal with all sorts of issues and problems you may have with your rugs. We have dealt with all these issues multiple times
With our repeated yarn to yarn hand wash our dedicated team will rejuvenate and revitalize your rug, bringing it back to state you can enjoy once again. We have cleaned and repaired thousands of rugs for our fellow Texans over the years.
The rug washing method varies depending upon the type and condition of the rug.
In some cases, a technician will clean the rug by hand, yarn by yarn, with gentle agitation/brushing. A rug washing machine/vacuum is used so we can control the amount of water used on the rug as well as control the cleaning soap solution. We use an environmentally friendly, neutral soap solution and fresh, clean water leaving no residue on the rugs. For more delicate, aged or sensitive rug precise and skilled hand washing is done on the rug to remove all dirt from it. On sensitive rugs, especially silk, the dry cleaning process is employed.
The method to use and the process is overseen and performed by experienced professionals to ensure you receive your rug in a better condition than you gave it.
Stain and Odor Removal (if necessary)
During or right after the cleaning process we will examine any stains or odor. Depending upon the type of rug and substance of the stain/odor, our highly experienced staff will choose an appropriate method to best address the issue. The Abrahams technicians have seen just about everything and are able to recommend the best course of action during pre-inspection.
Dry Room
After the washing, if the weather permits, rugs will be dried out in sunlight. This allows for thorough drying as well as eliminating any residual odor or bacteria. Careful monitoring is done ensure rugs are not left too long to affect the dye. Abrahams also uses indoor drying with large fans and temperature-controlled heating when necessary.
Grooming & Final inspection
Once your rug is dry, it’s taken to our service floor for a grooming and final inspection. We block your rug so it retains its shape, brush the nap, and give it a thorough vacuum. We also trim the fringe to give it a clean, uniform look. If any repair is needed, the rug is sent to our repair department. Otherwise, it’s rolled up and ready for pick-up or delivery.
